🦀 Crafting Lambda Functions in Rust gets a foreword & a first official reviewer!
Let's welcome David Calavera! 🤩
If you are reading this is probably because you bought a copy of the e-book “Crafting Lambda Functions in Rust” by Luciano Mammino and James Eastham: A practical guide on how to build efficient, sustainable, cost-effective serverless AWS solutions with the Rust programming language. If not, and this topic sounds interesting to you, check out the book website at rust-lambda.com.
Hello, fellow rustacean serverless friend 👋
As we keep working on chapters 5 & 6, we couldn’t wait to share some exciting news with you: we have an official foreword for the book and a first official reviewer!
🦸🏻 Let’s meet David
Say hello to David Calavera, who kindly agreed to write the foreword to our book and be our first official book reviewer!
David Calavera
If you are not familiar with David’s work, well, let’s just start by mentioning that he is the lead maintainer of the Rust runtime for AWS Lambda and the creator of Cargo Lambda! We couldn’t have wished for a better reviewer, really!
If you want to know more about David, you can find his bio in the new version of the book!
Yes, we just released a new version of the book too!
🗞️ What’s new
This new version isn’t major in terms of content but has some exciting additions and improvements:
We have added David’s foreword. We seriously hope you’ll like it as much as we did.
We did an internal review of the existing content and made many small improvements in readability and fixing typos and other small imperfections. Again thanks to everyone who has kindly reported issues or suggested improvements.
We added David as a reviewer and included his biography in the preface.
We updated the acknowledgments section to thank all the new early adopters!
Hopefully, these are some good reasons to keep the book on your summer reads list! 🤓 ☀️
